After a catastrophic disaster, citizens will want to volunteer to help. Without proper training, these people can expose themselves to potential injury and even death! Experience has shown that basic training in disaster survival and rescue skills improves the ability of citizens to survive until responders or other assistance arrives.

CERT (Community Emergency Response Teams) were designed to fill in that gap. Doing the most good for the greatest number of poeple, CERT Volunteers are able to help themselves, their families, and their neighbors at those critical moments.
