CERT training consists of approximately 24 hours spread over a 3 day period, or 3 hrs a night spread over 8 weeks.
Volunteers are trained in variety emergency response skills, including:

To qualify for this free training, individuals do not need prior emergency preparedness training. All training must be completed to become a member of Morrisville CERT.
If you are up for the challenge of becoming a valued member of the Morrisville CERT program, now is the time to complete an application. Individuals interested in attending the next Morrisville CERT class should complete this application.
Who may join Morrisville CERT?
Any eligible citizen that would like to become a Morrisville CERT, Inc member is required to participate in all modules of the instruction class taught by the Morrisville Fire Dept or CERT instructors. After successful completion of basic training, the citizen can volunteer their time as a Morrisville CERT.
Eligible citizens are defined as anyone who lives or works in Morrisville or surrounding area who is 18 years old or over, or ages 16 or 17 with signed parental permission form.
Applicants shall be admitted to membership on making application in writing and upon approval of the application by the membership committee of this Association.
What other continued training is available?
We strive to offer additional training/education to our Morrisville Community Emergency Response Team members and their families. This continued education is above and beyond the required training to join our teams and is taken at your choice with no obligation.
These trainings are normally offered as programs at our regular monthly meetings. Some potential subjects could be:
CPR/AED Training
Traffic Control
Self Defense
HAM operators
Severe Weather Spotting
Training from a member of the National Weather Service to properly recognize storm formations, tornados, etc.Home Disaster Planning
Learn the proper methods to set up disaster kits at home to be self-sufficient for the first few days after a disaster. What should be in the kits? Where do you find it? How much do you need?Refresher courses
Refreshers in First Aid, Light Search and Rescue, Light Firefighting, cribbing, and other subjects taught in CERT classes.Chainsaw Safety
